North British Semigroups and Applications Network

The LMS Scheme 3 grant is held by the University of Manchester, and expenses claims are paid by the University. External speakers should keep all receipts, and submit a claim on a University "external" claim form, which I (Mark) will provide. However, current Manchester staff and students CANNOT claim on this basis, and should follow usual University procedures for booking travel (which usually means booking travel through the University). All expense claims for a given academic year need to be submitted by August 31st at the end of that year, bcause I have to send accounts for the year to the LMS. Claims submitted after this date won't be paid.

NBSAN is a network of researchers in Scotland and Northern England with interests in semigroup theory and its applications. It is funded by grants from the London Mathematical Society and Edinburgh Mathematical Society, and organises about 3 meetings per year in different locations around the region. The main participant universities are Heriot-Watt, Manchester, St Andrews and York, but our activities are open to all interested researchers and we especially welcome participation by graduate students.

The next NBSAN meeting will be held in York in Autumn 2009.
