We offer two types of degree: Single Honours and Joint Honours.
Single Honours courses are constructed round a mathematics core that provides fundamental knowledge and forms the basis for more advanced work in later years.
Joint Honours degrees combine mathematics with another main subject, allowing you to pursue that subject to the same level as mathematics.
These courses are administered by the Schools of Computer Science and Physics, respectively. The links below will take you to information on these Schools' sites.
Are you interested in a course in Mathematics (including Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics) but do not have the necessary qualifications for first year entry? Or are you returning to study after a period away from education?
Science with a Integrated Foundation Year is a one year programme designed to improve your scientific knowledge and understanding to a level where you will be suitable for a Mathematics degree in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. You are guaranteed a place provided you meet the entry criteria for your chosen degree.
In studying the Foundation Year you will take courses in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (where appropriate) plus Communication Skills and ICT. Finally, you will complete a project that is specific or closely related to your anticipated degree programme. The courses are delivered by the University of Manchester on our campus.
