The University of Manchester is one of the UK’s largest and most reputable universities. The Faculty of Science and Engineering has more than 70 specialist research groups and links with key industrial partners.

The School of Mathematics has about 170 postgraduate students in principal areas of mathematics. To find out more come along to one of our open days to discuss your interests with academics and attend talks on the degrees that we offer.

The School of Maths Open Day is part of a University-wide Postgraduate Taught Open Day with events starting around campus at 11.00 am. Please register but it is also possible to turn up to the Maths events on the day.  

The programme of events in the School of Mathematics is given below:

14.15 – Registration
14.30 - 'Introduction to MSc Study’ by the MSc Director, Dr Peter Foster, to be followed by an introduction to the MSc Programme Directors, in Frank Adams 1 & 2, 1st floor of the Alan Turing Building.
15:00 - Refreshments on the Atrium Bridge. This will provide an opportunity for informal discussions about our postgraduate taught programmes with academics and current students.
16.00 - Tour of the Alan Turing Building
16:30 – Close

Our next PhD/MSc Maths Open Day is scheduled for Wednesday 27th February 2019.  Further information about this event will be published nearer the time.
