Calculating Careers Fair

The 2014 Fair will take place on Wednesday 8th October in the Atrium of the Alan Turing Building. Confirmed attendees so far include Amec, HMRC, Towers watson, Quanticate, GCHQ, Morgan Stanley, Teach First, BP and many more.

The Calculating Careers Fair is an annual event that takes place in the spacious atrium of the School’s Alan Turing Building, in October each year. Designed exclusively for students and recent graduates of the School of Mathematics, previous fairs have attracted over 35 internationally renowned employers and more than 700 students – many of whom have gone on to achieve graduate positions with employers first contacted at the Fair.

This event is a great opportunity for students to network with a number of graduate employers, all of whom will have a particular interest in the skills and expertise afforded by the study of mathematics, and to learn more about the graduate positions and career paths available within each company. As well as their current graduate positions, many of the employers attending the Fair will also be recruiting to their internship schemes and summer placements, which can be a great way to build real-world experience of a specific company or sector.

Whatever your year of study or particular career ambitions, the chances are that the employers attending the annual Calculating Careers Fair will have opportunities and advice that can help you navigate the graduate recruitment cycle and take your first steps onto the proverbial ladder.
