Postgraduate Open Day
In order to attend the School of Mathematics Postgraduate Open Day, you need to register.
Programme
The next Open Day will take place from 2.00pm on Wednesday 13 February 2013 in Frank Adams Room (Alan Turing Building).
At this event you will be able to find out more about our postgraduate programmes by talking informally to both staff and current postgraduate students. In particular the programme directors for each of our MSc and PhD programmes will be available to answer any questions concerning the structure or content of the relevant courses.
The programme for the Open Day will be as follows:
13:30 Registration and distribution of printed information14:00-14:20 (approx) “Introduction to Postgraduate Study in Mathematics at Manchester” by Prof. Matthias Heil, in Frank Adams Rooms 1 & 2.
14:20-14:30 Introduction to the Postgraduate Programme Directors
14:30-15:45 Tea, coffee, biscuits on Atrium Bridge – Group discussions (Atrium Bridge seating area) This period will provide an opportunity for informal discussion of our programmes with academics and current students.
15:45 Tour of the Alan Turing Building
Female attendees are also invited to attend:
4.00-5.30pm, WiSET (women in Science, Engineering and technology) event. Room G108 Alan Turing Building: Talks by female lecturers and PhD students on academic careers in mathematics.
