For Alumni

The School of Mathematics would like alumni to keep a connection with the School by sharing experiences and knowledge and also getting involved in University events. Alumni career profiles are a great way to motivate current students with the different career paths available to maths undergraduates; as an alumni you can inspire students by telling them about your experience during University and advice you would give to current undergraduates. 

Take part in the Manchester Gold Mentoring-  

The Manchester Gold Mentor is a mentoring programme, alumni can provide guidance and support to current students about course and career choices. Mentoring is an excellent way to share your wisdom and experience with students and also help develop your own skills.

Access to the library services

Alumni of The University of Manchester are able to access the on campus library and also the electronic library, allowing you to access all the library e-sources wherever and whenever you need it. More information on how you can make the most out of the library after graduation is on the University website.

Join 'Your Manchester Online'

Keep in touch with other alumni by being part of Your Manchester Online where you can be updated with news and events aimed at University of Manchester alumni. The membership is free of charge and is easy to sign up by using your former ID number. There are several discounts available when you register an account suchas, discounted rates to use University sports facility, University guest rooms and even a free eye tests. 

Careers Services

As a graduate you are also eligible to use the Careers service for up to 2 years after you graduate. Allowing you to access the careers guidance appointments and also feedback on applications, cv and covering letter.  Don’t worry if you don’t live in Manchester anymore, as these appointments can also be made via telephone and even skype. Make sure you make the most of CareersLink and keep updated with all the new job vacancies posted on the website. The University of Manchester have their own Careers blog which is regularly updated with useful information for graduates.  

Guidance from local Universities & Institutions

As a graduate of Manchester you are also able to receive extra assistance from other Universities and Institutions from all around the UK. This includes opportunities from different Universities around UK offering graduate internships and placements.
