Finiteness conditions for invariant subVOA

Floriana Amicone

Frank Adams 2,

Near the end of 19th century Hilbert proved what is now known as the Second Fundamental Theorem of Invariant Theory. A similar conjecture holds in the setting of Vertex Operator Algebras. Despite them being noncommutative and nonassociative algebraic structures, under some particular assumptions it is possible to apply Hilbert's demostrative strategy in order to show the validity of the conjecture. In my talk I'll try to give an idea of how this can be done.
