A Look at Energy Saving on the Intel‘s Knights Landing for Linear Algebra Computations

Jack Dongarra (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, University of Tennessee and School of Computer Science and School of Mathematics, University of Manchester)

Frank Adams 1,

In this talk we will look at the current state of high performance computing and the move to exascale.  As we approach exascale computing, energy has been identified as a critical resource. We will examine some issues that can help in reducing the power consumption for linear algebra computations on Intel’s Knights Landing Processor.
