Quantitative photoacoustic tomography is an emerging imaging technique aimed at estimating the quantitative values of optical parameters inside tissue from a photoacoustic image which is formed by combining optical information and ultrasound propagation. This is an ill-posed problem, and therefore it needs to be approached within the framework of inverse problems. In this work, the image reconstruction problem of quantitative photoacoustic tomography is considered in a Bayesian framework. This is joint work with Aki Pulkkinen, Jari Kaipio, Ben Cox and Simon Arridge.
