A symmetric hyperbolic elastic wave forward modeling in full-waveform inversion

Full-waveform inversion is a nonlinear data-fitting technique used for estimating subsurface properties from recorded seismic data. Traditional full-waveform inversion forward models mostly focus on acoustic and Helmholtz equation, which are numerically easier to implement, but practically inaccurate in the subsurface earth environment. We are going to introduce a symmetric hyperbolic elastic wave model for full-waveform inversion, and the numerical implementations on some examples simulating earth subsurface environment.
