Acoustic Metamaterials and their Applications

Will Rowley (University of Manchester)

G.205 Alan Turing Building,

What is a metamaterial, and what can they do? In this talk we aim to answer these questions, at least in part. We will develop some of the techniques used in the design process, and apply them to an acoustical beam shifter (a simple acoustic device used to shift impinging acoustic waves in space). \(f(a)\) \[\nabla x=3\]
