Registration now open for The Careers in Statistics Fair

The Careers in Statistics Fair, held on Wednesday 2nd March 2016, will be an invaluable event for anyone interested in finding out more about the wide range of different statistical careers available


Organised by the School of Mathematics at The University of Manchester, and supported by the Royal Statistical Society Manchester Local Group, The Careers in Statistics Fair is for anyone who is about to embark on, or is at the beginning of, their statistical career. Whether you have already begun to specialise in a particular area of statistics, or are still studying, this event will provide invaluable information, advice and networking opportunities. 

Statistics covers fields as diverse as medicine, finance, industry, environment, government and academia. There will be a range of talks from these areas. Speakers are confirmed from HMRC, the Royal Statistical SocietyLubrizolAWEErnst and Young, AstraZeneca, Medical Statistics in the Public Sector and Academia.


The event will take place from 1.30-4pm on Wednesday 2nd March 2016 in the Alan Turing Building (number 46 on the campus map). The event is free, but participants must register via Eventbrite and must display their student ID card on arrival on the day.
