The Manchester Mathematics Research Students' Conference, MRSC, is an annual one day conference for all mathematics research students at The University of Manchester.

Now in the eleventh year of this conference, MRSC 2017 demonstrated it's value within the School with 80 participants gathering together to listen to PhD students' presentations and to welcome new PhD students to the department. This conference is completely organised by students, for students, and provides a unique opportunity for our PhD students to practise their presentation and organising skills.

There was a high level of quality to this year's talks and research posters. Judges included IBM representative Dr. Anna Paola Carrieri and two Postdocs, Dr. Omar Leon Sanchez and Dr. Elizabeth Buckingham-Jeffery who were on hand to select the very best of the talks and posters. The IBM best talk prize went to Filippo Pagani and the IBM best poster prize went to Helena Stage. We congratulate them in their work.

You can learn more about MRSC here and follow them on Twitter.
