Monday 19th June 2017 One Day Ergodic Theory Meeting

There will be a one day ergodic theory meeting at the University of Manchester on Thursday 19th June 2017. This is part of the LMS Scheme 3 funded network of collaborative meetings involving Bristol, Exeter, Leicester, Loughborough, Manchester, Queen Mary, St Andrews, Surrey and Warwick, funded by a Scheme 3 grant from the LMS.

This event will take place in Frank Adams Meeting Room 1 in the Alan Turing Building and is part of the LMS Scheme 3 funded network of collaborative meetings

Here is the format of the day:

  • 1:15pm - 2:15pm Asaf Katz (Jerusalem)

     Sparse equidistribution in unipotent flows 

  • 2:30pm - 3:30pm Liviana Palmisano (Bristol)

     Foliations by rigidity classes

  • 4:00pm - 5:00pm Marco Martens (Stony Brook)

     Strange invariant measures in one-dimensional dynamics

All talks will take place in Frank Adams 1 in the Alan Turing Building.

For people who arrive in time we will meet at 12pm on the Atrium Bridge (1st floor common room) in the Alan Turing Building to go for lunch. We will also go to a restaurant for dinner in the evening.
