Missing iron meteorites in Antarctica

Dr. Geoff Evatt from the School of Mathematics is to be involved in the first British expedition to collect iron meteorites in Antarctica Reported on BBC News, BBC Science website and the World Service

Searching for iron meteorites in Antarctica

The first ever British Expedition for iron meteorites in Antarctica is being planned to go ahead in the near future.

Most space rocks housed in collections across the globe have been found on Antarctica. The UK expedition will look for iron meteorites which are not as commonly found.

The great amount of ice in Antartica makes looking  for the dark remains of objects easier compared to other places on the planet.
