The School of Mathematics was delighted to learn that Dr Stefan Güttel, Reader in Numerical Analysis and PhD Director of Applied Mathematics, has been awarded a Teaching Excellence Award 2018. This award recognises his achievements in teaching, learning, and the student experience.
Launched in 2005–06, the Teaching Excellence Awards are a University-wide award made to academic and support staff who have demonstrated a significant and sustained commitment to excellence in teaching. Both academic and related colleagues teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels are eligible for this Award, which consists of a £5000 grant to be used over a period of up to three years. Up to 4 awards are made across the University each year. Commenting on his award, Stefan said, 'I am delighted to receive this award in recognition of my teaching, and like to thank my students and colleagues'.
