All new students are expected to attend Welcome Week: Monday 21 September to Friday 25 September

New students will be receiving information on Welcome Week and how to complete registration a week after confirmation and clearing. In the meantime you can access a draft copy of the Welcome Week Timetable and Crucial Guide website.
During Welcome Week you will receive information packs on your programme of study, meet your Academic Advisor and the Year Tutor. Get involved in Group work activities a scavanger hunt amd inspirational talks from academics. You MUST also complete the MATHS1000 Study Module (Induction) in relation to Health and Safety, Academic Malpractice and have a go at the Mathematics Diagnostic Test. The Health and Safety assessments should be completed by the deadline stated.
In addition to the Schools Welcome events, the University and the Students' Union have a range of events, including the societies fair, student union fair, campus tours, library tours and social activities. University Welcome information.

The University on-line registration opens from 1st September for all students. For full details of the registration process please access the registration section of the Crucial Guide and follow the steps to complete registration.
You can register on-line between 1st September to the 30th September. After this date late charges will apply.
Students continuing into their second, third and fourth year of studies
Welcome Week: contunuing students are expected to attend the Induction Talk related to their year of study:
- Year 2 Induction Talk - Thursday 24th September 3pm in Roscoe Building Theatre A - Talk by Dr Louise Walker
- Year 3 Induction Talk - Friday 25th September 12pm in Crawford House Theatre 1 - Talk by Professor Paul Glendinning
- Year 4 Induction Talk - Friday 25th September 12pm in University Place 4.206 - Talk by Dr Catherine Powell
Students continuing their studies in the School of Mathematics will have the opportunity to self selection optional course units on the student system from 13th July - 9th August. To make sure you get a place on your chosen optional course unit you will need to enrol before the deadline.
You will make your selection referring to the programme speficiations briefly outlined in the pre-registration document or the course unit description website related to your programme and year of study. A 'student guide to using self-service course unit selection' is available to help you through the process.
Note students will have been automatically enrolled onto their compulsory course units.
