Welcome, Induction and Registration Information

This page currently outlines the arrangements for Welcome and Induction of new students, and registration information for new and continuing students.

The University on-line registration opens from 1st September for all students.  Further information will be available nearer the time.

 

  • New students entering the School of Mathematics for 2015/16.

All new students are expected to attend Welcome and Induction week: Monday 21st September - Friday 25th September 2015

  • Welcome Talk 
  • Meet your Academic Advisor
  • Group Work (a chance to meet new students)

University Welcome Week Events and Crucial Guide for students will be available here soon!

New students will be receiving information on Welcome Week and how to complete registration a week after confirmation and clearing. 

During Welcome Week you will receive information packs on your programme of study, meet your Academic Advisor and the Undergraduate Director. Get involved in Group work activities a scavanger hunt amd inspirational talks from academics. You MUST also complete the MATHS0000 Induction Module in relation to Health and Safety, Academic Malpractice and have a go at the Mathematics Diagnostic Test.

 

  • Students continuing into their second, third and fourth year of studies

Students continuing their studies in the School of Mathematics will have the opportunity to self selection optional course units on the student system from 13th July - 9th August.  To make sure you get a place on your chosen optional course unit you will need to enrol before the deadline.

You will make your selection referring to the programme speficiations briefly outlined in the pre-registration document or the course unit description website related to your programme and year of study. A 'student guide to using self-service course unit selection' is available to help you through the process.

Note students will have been automatically enrolled onto their compluslory course units.
