In the first year all course units are compulsory (a mandatory requirement) as listed below, totalling 120 credits.
For 2016/17 entry: Students who have an 'A' Level in Economics take ECON10081 and ECON10082; and students without 'A' Level Economics will take ECON10041 and ECON10042.
For 2017/18 entry: Students take ECON10221 Microeconomics 1and ECON10252 Macroeconomics 1 as listed below.
The first year includes an additional progression rule: For each of the following non compensatable course units (MATH10111, MATH10131, MATH10212 and MATH10232) you must achieve an overall average mark of 40% to pass the year and continue your studies.
