O.R. in Schools

"What size plane should British Airways buy?"

"How much should the Government spend on policing?"

"Where should Thompson send their summer holiday reps?"

These are just some of the questions you could help answer with a career in Operational Research (OR). If you enjoy maths but you are not sure how you could use it in a career, take a look at OR; in a nutshell, operational research (OR) is the discipline of applying advanced analytical methods to help make better decisions. It uses techniques such as mathematical modelling to analyse complex situations, make more effective decisions and build more productive systems.

Employers who recruit for OR analysts are large and varied, spanning across all different industries. Think British Airways, The Government, EY, Tui, Expedia, DSTL, British Gas, AWE, Capgemini and RBS (to name just a few!)

This event is run in conjunction with The OR Society.
