Automorphic Lie Algebras in a Nutshell

Sara Lombardo (University of Manchester and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam)

Automorphic algebras are a class of infinite dimensional Lie algebras, originally defined in the context of integrable system. They are in particular related to the problem of algebraic reductions of integrable equations. In this talk I will review the construction of automorphic Lie algebras associated to finite groups and discuss a few of their properties. Time permitting, I will show how to obtain automorphic algebras using the classical notion of transvectants (work in progress).
