Research Interests

  • Eigenvalue Problems
  • Numerical Linear Algebra
  • Parallel Programming
  • My research is to do with numerical solutions and software implementations for large, sparse Eigenvalue problems arising in Finite Element analysis of Civil Engineering structures. In particular, I am interested in the Generalized and Quadratic eigenvalue problems and strategies to parallelize them.

Eigenvalue systems are an important class of problems in Structural Engineering that arise while performing dynamic/stability analysis of bridges or buildings.

    Other interests

  • C++: I maintain an active interest in C++, especially the stl and boost, template metaprogramming and the new c++0x standard.
  • Emerging pardigms like lambdas and frameworks like openmp, intel tbb for expressing data & task parallelism.
  • Software design and architecture: Software for engineering/scientific analysis, design of Application Programming Interfaces.
  • This page might appear awful in Internet Exploder. That's by design.
