How to get to the Ibis Hotel from Manchester Airport

A taxi from the airport will cost you about £20.

There are a plenty of trains from the railway station at the airport to Manchester Piccadilly or Manchester Oxford Road (between £2 and 3). Oxford Road is closer to your hotel

You may check the trains timetable here.

Once you leave Manchester Oxford Road Station, there is only a 5 min walk to the hotel (situated on Portland Street). From Manchester Piccadilly you may take a taxi (between £2 and 3) or continue on foot.

Here is the map of this area.

How to get from the Ibis Hotel to the workshop venue

The workshop will be held in Room M12, Maths and Social Sciences (MSS) Building, UMIST campus. It is about 10 min walk from your hotel.

After leaving your hotel, turn left and walk till you reach Princess Street. Turn right, cross Portland Street and walk for about 5 minutes, passing Whitworth Street. At the corner with Charles Street (where another Ibis is situated) turn left and walk to the next corner. You are already on our campus. Turn right and walk for about 50 metres pass the Conference Centre on your right. Turn left towards the alley at the end of which you'll see the tallest concrete building. This will be MSS.

Apart from the map mentioned above, some good campus maps are available from here.

Room M12 is on the M floor, at the end of the corridor. Take a lift on the right of the MSS entrance.
