The 1st NEPGPMW was held in
Goodricke College, at the University of York, on Monday 28th July 2003,
with the intention of allowing research students in pure mathematics (broadly
It attracted 24 graduate students from 12 different institutions across the
UK. Every student had the opportunity (if they wished) to give a short talk
on their research. There was also a longer talk by Professor Peter Cameron
of Queen Mary University of London. You can download the programme and
- meet people with similar interests in nearby Departments;
- broaden their awareness of pure mathematics in general; and
- gain experience of conference speaking in a relatively relaxed environment.
