Mark Pinsky received the B.A. from Antioch College and the PhD in Mathematics from MIT in 1966. He has held positions at Stanford University, the University of Chicago and the Universite Paris VI. He has been Full Professor at Northwestern University since 1976. He has published nearly 100 papers in leading reseach journals on the topics of stochastic differential equations, kinetic theory of gases, geometric analysis and classical Fourier analysis. He is the author of "Partial Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems with Applications". McGraw Hill, 2d ed 1991. Pinsky is a member of the American Mathematical Society, the Mathematical Association of America and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. Recently he was elected to a four-year term as Trustee of the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute in Berkeley California. He is an Editorial Consultant for the American Mathematical Society and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Theoretical Probability.
