Course Details 2002
Aims and Objectives
- To develop and expand the topics introduced in 1C1
- To provide basic skills in matrices and the solution of simultaneous linear
equations.
Students taking course
Note :- Year 1 students call the course 1C2, Foundation Year call it 0C2
- Foundation Year: Students take 0B2 or 0C2
- Textiles: Students take 1B2 or 1C2 as determined by serviced Department
- Building: CM and CMQS
- Optometry: Students take 1C2 as determined by serviced Department
- Chemistry: Students take 1Q2, 1B2 or 1C2 as determined by serviced Department

The lecture details are:
- Wednesday 9 a.m., room R/H11
- Friday 9 a.m., room MSS/C22
Tutorials begin in Week 2
Normally problem sheets are given out in a lecture, with the
corresponding tutorial the following week; however, all problem
sheets, with solutions, are available on the web for you to download.
There are 5 tutorial groups:
- Building Engineering: Mon 10 am, N16/MSS
- Textiles: Fri 10 am, R/D6
- Optometry: Wed 10 am, R/D1
- Chemistry: Fri 2 pm, R/H5
- Foundation Year: Fri 1 pm, MSS/N6
There will be two Coursework Assignments [Counting 20%]
The first must be handed in before
the end of Week 4, and the second before the end of Week 9. You can give them
to the lecturer after lectures, in tutorials, or leave them in the
appropriate pigeon-hole in MSS/N2, in the Mathematics Department.
