A Recall of My Study Road
Under the initial educations by my mother, prof. Wang Mingjie, an exemplary vocal music educationist of China, I stepped into the music world from my early childhood. At the age of 6, I began my formal Gu-Zheng performance learning from a local outstanding Gu-Zheng performer, Liu Qiaojun. In 1984, I passed the National College Entrance Examination and began my under-graduate study at Hebei Normal University, specializing in the performances of Gu-Zheng and Piano. From then on, what made me feel lucky and unforgettable was that I was able to study Gu-Zheng from prof. Chao-Zhen. Gu-Zheng has been accompanying me in passing through my life road. During these almost 30 past years, I have attended countless performances with Gu-Zheng, and won kinds of prizes from different competitions. Meanwhile, through the systematic studies of the under-graduation and years of teaching and research afterwards, I have established a deeper understanding between western music and eastern music, not only for the performances of Gu-Zheng and Piano, but for the Music Theories as well.
Besides, I am very keen on the music education of children.
