Mark Bacon

Mark Bacon is 19yrs old and comes from Newark in Nottinghamshire. Mark studied A-levels in Mathematics, Law and Business Studies. In these subjects he achieved B,B and D respectively. Mark also studied French and citizenship at AS level. After completion of his foundation year mark hopes to study for a Bsc in Mathematics. Marks enjoys varies genres of music and attend various gigs with friends

Alix Chester

Alix is from Manchester, England. She intends to pursue a degree in Mathematics after completing her foundation year.

Henry Dorrain

Henry is from Manchester and is studying maths with a foundation year. He really enjoys his music, especially going to festivals such as the Leeds and Reading festival. His music taste goes from blues music through to rock music so is quite diverse. He hates football and is not a big sport fan. Henry actually began University last year, but dropped out as the course was not what he expected, and has begun again this year with something he enjoys more. His accommodation is Oak House in Fallow field where he likes very much.

Lerato Thutse

The name Lerato is a sotho name meaning love. She is from South Africa. Before coming to University Lerato was in Southend on sea, Essex county working in Pizza Express as a waitress, then later promoted to supervisory position. She is here to revive her passion for living, pursue her dream, discover her vision and find her true life. During the time she was working as a Supervisor, Lerato acquired strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Her interests are anything about problem solving, maths or counselling (for real life problems).

Matthew White

Matthew is originally from Somerset. He is 18 and is using the foundation course as a stepping stone onto a maths degree, and might continue from that to do a Masters degree. After he has finished at university he hopes to go into some form of teaching. He is living in Owens park halls but hopes to move into a house next year with some friends.
