The Perseid Shower 2008

Arrow and dot show extreme positions of radiant (beginning and end of shower period) and also the position of the radiant at the time of maximum.

Characteristics of the shower

The Perseid shower lasts for several weeks in late July and early and mid August and produces a large number of meteors in the dates close to the maximum around August 12.

Circumstances for 2008

The moon is new on April 12th so the period from August 8th onwards is suitable for observation. This includes the days around maximum activity.
