The Leonid Shower 2008

Arrow and dot show extreme positions of radiant (beginning and end of shower period) and also the position of the radiant at the time of maximum.

Characteristics of the shower

This shower underwent enhanced activity in recent years but is expected to return to more normal rates for the years to come. However, observations are still extremely important. It should be noted that the radiant does not gain respectable altitude until the morning hours.

Circumstances for 2008

The Moon is Full on November 13th and the shower is unfavourable.
