I just love the 'lecture and tutorial' mode of teaching. Lectures give us basic theorems and necessary background knowledge, while tutorials and seminars help reinforce our mathematical skills.

How did you decide on your degree choice? What appealed about Manchester?

Maths is a charming subject and I’ve always been enthusiastic about it. However, actuarial science is more challenging and it’s not only about maths, it's a combination of knowledge in many fields. I really wanted this challenge.

What were your first impressions of the University and the city?

Founded in 1824, the University of Manchester is steeped in history. I was impressed by some of the traditional architecture here, and many of the building have remained true to the original style.

The learning atmosphere in the library is extremely good and we are provided with great facilities, making us feel really comfortable studying.

What are you most enjoying about your course?

I just love the 'lecture and tutorial' mode of teaching. Lectures give us basic theorems and necessary background knowledge, while tutorials and seminars help reinforce our mathematical skills as well as intuitions, and also offer us opportunities to communicate with the professors and lecturers.

How do you think you are benefitting from studying at Manchester?

Extremely responsible academic advisors and patient lecturers, giving students helpful instructions in every possible way.
