 I am a Senior Teaching Fellow in the School of Mathematics. I received my  BA in Mathematics in 1981 and my Ph.D in 1986, both degrees being conferred  by  the University of California at San Diego.

 I have been been an LE Dickson Instructor at the University of Chicago (1986 - 1989), a (US) National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow (1987 - 1990), and a Lecturer at the University of Michigan (1989 - present).

 My work focuses on schools and colleges outreach and on the recruitment and retention of undergraduate students.  I have special interests in Widening Participation, in the roles ofacculturation and languague fluency for the success of international students, and in developing constructive interventions for students at academic risk.
