Professor Alex Wilkie invited to be a member of the prestigious Academia Europaea

Professor Alex Wilkie has been invited to be a member of the prestigious Academia Europaea due to his outstanding achievements as a researcher.  The Academia Europaea was founded in 1988 and is an organisation of eminent, individual scholars from across the continent of Europe.  The full range of academic disciplines are represented - humanities, social, physical and life sciences as well as mathematics, engineering and medicine.  There are currently around 3000 members.  This broad assembly of excellence and the pan-European distribution of its members makes the Academia unique amongst other European Academies.
