PhD student Will Rowley celebrates a win at the BAMC 2016
Congratulations to second year PhD student Will Rowley
We congratulate Will Rowley, a second year PhD student in Applied Mathematics here at Manchester, on his recent achievement at the BAMC 2016, held at The University of Oxford 5-8th April 2016.
Will, who studies acoustic noise reduction techniques through the use of metamaterials, was one of three winners of the SIAM Student Prizes. He was awarded a prize for the best student talk for his presentation on the design of an acoustic beam shifter. Will is also a member of the Waves in Complex Continua research group within the School of Mathematics. You can find out more about the winners here.
Will is funded by an EPSRC CASE studentship with industrial sponsor Dyson. The grant is facilitated by the Smith Institute for Industrial Mathematics and System Engineering.
