Dr Tom Shearer awarded Catherine Richards Prize 2016

Tom Shearer and Philip Pearce awarded prize for best article in Mathematics Today 2016

Congratulations to Dr Tom Shearer, a postdoctoral research fellow in Applied Mathematics here at Manchester, and Dr Philip Pearce, a postdoctoral researcher (formerly based in Manchester and now at MIT) who have been awarded the Catherine Richards Prize for the best article in Mathematics Today in 2016.

Philip and Tom, who both conduct research at the interface of mathematics and biology, were awarded the prize for their article 'Maths in Medicine: How to Survive a Science Fair', which was published in the June 2016 issue of Mathematics Today. They will be presented with the prize at the IMA Mathematics 2017 conference on 23 March.
